Jason Jones - President

JasonJason's strong business sense and entrepreneurial spirit are driving forces in his work. After selling his first retail business at the age of 19, he set out to be a pioneer in the emerging internet industry. Through his 17 year career, Jason has gathered a diverse client portfolio including Bell Emergis, Bell, Canadian Pacific Railway, Shaw Communications Inc., Merck Frosst, and Lloyd's of London. A practiced leader and team-builder, Jason has grown and managed successful web departments in the UK and on Canadian soil. He capably organizes and directs resources in the service of internal and external customers, interpreting and facilitating business needs with careful efficiency. Jason has a multi-faceted background in telecommunications, oil & gas, the insurance industry, graphic design, web programming, and business analysis, in addition to his capable leadership skills. A consummate self-starter, he is equally able to direct vision from a high level, and get down in the trenches to get things done.

Gwynn Kirk - Designer & Editor

GwynnGwynn is a veteran of the turn-of-the-century Internet boom, but has considered the web her medium since 1997 when she made her first website. She initially studied jewelry and metalsmithing at the Alberta College of Art & Design, but worked as a graphic designer and writer early on for the Certified Management Accountants of Alberta. After cutting her teeth in their marketing department, Gwynn moved forward with Stormworks, a leading edge internet consulting firm which provided exposure to a variety of roles, such as site strategy development, interface usability analysis, graphic design, and copyediting. Gwynn continued as a writer and designer online with Star Choice, and later Replicon, where she designed the look & feel of next-generation web applications and managed usability decisions for new features. After Replicon, she consulted in the same vein as a writer and designer with Material Insight for over two years. With Vertical Motion, Gwynn has continued her interface design and graphic design career in everything from mobile devices to large scale print pieces.

Lopi Mackenzie - Developer

LopiLopi is an accomplished software engineer specializing in iOS development and object-oriented design. He has extensive experience in entire cycle of development, from concept design through resource gathering, design, coding, testing, debugging, and maintenance. A graduate of the Art Institute of Vancouver in 2007, Lopi has been consistently involved in leading edge mobile development, in both entertainment and corporate applications. A true self-starter and driven logical thinker, Lopi invests personally in finding the best possible solution to a programming challenge, fearlessly innovating and forging new paths in mobile development. Lopi programs in Objective-C, C/C++, UnrealScript, XML, and HTML.

Jason Lewis - Developer

LewisSince graduating from the University of Victoria's Computer Engineering programming in 1996, Jason has built up an extensive background in industries from retail to manufacturing. Working for companies such as NovAtel Inc., CoolIT Systems Inc., and White Pixel Creations, he has created a diverse portfolio ranging from data-processing and hardware control to websites and iPhone applications. Jason brings a high level of focus and dedication to any project, working tirelessly and efficiently to ensure the best outcome for everyone involved. With a strong belief in creating powerful and effective designs, he is dedicated to ensuring an enjoyable and seamless experience for the user, no matter who they may be.

Jay Cyluck – Designer and Account Manager

CyluckJay loves business, and there is nothing he finds more satisfying than to solve a problem. Whether it's business infrastructure, workflow, or a branding exercise he loves the process of coming up with a great solution. Jay has spent some of his career in downtown Calgary in high-profile marketing firms, and has flexed his own entrepreneurial muscles owning a Web Design and Development firm for nine years. Jay has worked with clients like Rogers, Canadian Pacific Railway, the University of Calgary, Agrium, AVAC, Telus Spark, Albi homes, and the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP).

Ali LaMar - Business Analyst

AliFusing technical knowledge with communications expertise, Ali analyzes, harmonizes, and optimizes business systems. After putting her talents to work for market leaders like UPS and ambitious, agile startups like Earth Class Mail, she brings a logistics-style zeal for efficiency and clarity to the development domain. LaMar is as much at home with enterprise databases as she is with warehouse process flows. Some of the things she tackles tirelessly: balancing business stakeholder objectives with user requirements, restructuring documentation for readability and usability, shaving process deadweight, and translating a client's wish list into engineering action items.
